Somewhere deep in the South Pacific towering mountains rise from a cobalt sea, their jagged cliffs plunging down to rugged shores, their flanks carpeted in deep green jungle. These are the Marquesas, among the youngest islands in French Polynesia as well as the least visited. This two-week journey explores four of these fascinating rainforested isles, balanced with the pristine soft sands and gin-clear waters of the fabled Society Islands and the fluorescent marine wonders of the Tuamotu Archipelago.

Day 2 – Papeete

Experience Bora Bora's Island exquisite topography from a unique perspective during this picturesque flight seeing tour.

Depart the pier for the brief transfer to the helipad. After boarding your helicopter, you will take off for a 30-minute flight seeing tour over Bora Bora, the Pearl of the Pacific. You will then head towards north and enjoy a bird’s eye view over the famous heart-shaped island, Tupai. Along the way, you can use the headphones to listen to your pilot's commentary as he points out the sights below. Your bird's-eye view of Bora Bora will include spectacular views and photo opportunities of the world's most beautiful lagoon and reefs, along with manta rays and sharks, an adventure some call Heli-snorkeling. You will then circle Mount Otemanu, Bora Bora's highest peak.

After you flight you will get back to the pier.

  • This tour is subject to cancellation with little or no notice due to operational reasons from the operator. After passing through downtown Papeete, you will arrive at the district of Arue to visit James Norman Hall Home?. This memorial museum is the exact replica of the original elegant green colonial home of this famous writer. Most known for the Mutiny on the Bounty? trilogy and other known novels that were transformed into Hollywood movies.

You will then continue to Venus Point on Matavai Bay. Here you will see a Victorian-era lighthouse and monument commemorating the passage of Captain James Cook who came to observe the transit of Venus in 1769 as part of his work for the Royal Society.
